History of Fir-Conway Lutheran

Established 1889
Welcome to Fir-Conway Lutheran Church!

The first Fir Church building was built in 1896 and measured 24'x42'.  Services began just as soon as the roof and outside walls were in place.  The first confirmation took place in 1899, and the church slowly finished over the next couple years and dedication took place in 1902.  As more settlers moved into the area, and roads were improved, the congregation decided it was time for a larger church building and the current structure was dedicated in 1916.  In 1917, the churches at Fir Island and the Conway Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Congregation united, and together became known as the Fir-Conway Lutheran Church.  Today, Fir-Conway Lutheran is still holding services and would love if you joined us.
